Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 lb broccoli, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon apple vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Marinate the flank steak with baking soda, apple vinegar, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, white pepper, water, and cornstarch for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the stir-fry sauce by mixing oyster sauce, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, apple vinegar, sugar, chicken broth, and cornstarch.
  3. Blanch broccoli in boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes; drain and set aside.
  4. In a hot wok or skillet with oil, cook the marinated beef until seared on both sides; remove from pan.
